Toronto’s Gems: Pete's Guide to Toronto, Food Edition

Neal Brothers Brand has been around for 36 years. We’re coming on four decades in the business. With years of distribution under their belt, Peter and Chris Neal have been in and out of all of Toronto’s nooks and crannies. Whether it was delivering products to a small convenience store, or grabbing lunch with a potential retailer, the NB team has experienced it all. Here are some gastronomic favourites of Toronto, from the Peter Neal himself.

The Classic Spots

Aloette
Neighbourhood upscale bistro, Michelin recommended since 2022. A cozy space, probably the width of a train car.

Edulis
One of the most sought-after reservations in Toronto, Edulis has a standing spot on the list of top restaurants in all of Canada.

Le Select
A classic French spot for classic French fare. Come for the escargot, duck confit, and endless wine list.

Mildred's Temple Kitchen
A Toronto institution with probably some of the most famous buttermilk pancakes to exist.

Some Hidden Gems

Monkey Bar
Defined as 'casual fine-dining', Monkey Bar is a lesser-known spot serving up modern fare in a well-loved neighbourhood spot.

Pukka
Serving modern Indian food, family style, Pukka is not only a Peter Neal favourite, but a Neal Brothers organization favourite. You might see our team members there on any given night.

Foxley Toronto
This small plates establishment, started in 2007 mixes East Asian and Pan-Latin flavours
